LAB OVERVIEW

OVERVIEW

No workflow
exists in isolation

In scaled organizations, every workflow depends on the interplay of data, people, processes, and systems. The more complex, opaque, or fragmented the environment, the more deeply embedded and rigid the workflow becomes.

So most workflows
remain very human

While GPTs and RPA have achieved varying levels of success in automation, mimicking human clicks and keystrokes is effective only up to a point. When processes are complex, nuanced, or deeply human-driven, people have had to remain in charge—an area where AI has fallen short.

Agentic AI is a path to solve for this

Agentic AI offers a solution by dynamically adapting to the complexities of human workflows. It goes beyond mimicking actions, learning from real-time human behavior and organizational patterns. This enables it to handle nuance, ambiguity, and fragmentation, creating context-aware workflows that integrate seamlessly with people, processes, and systems.

But knowing where to start can be hard

The biggest challenge that scaled organizations face is translating agent investment into value capture. Whether it's unclear what to source, how to integrate or orchestrate it, where to apply it, or how to drive employee adoption and engagement, the core issue with agent deployment is not about identifying inputs—it's about achieving tangible outcomes.

LAB APPROACH

APPROACH

We are Aethena Virtual Labs

We develop early stage PoCs that translate native agent-based AI into existing B2B processes to release trapped value from complex and human-centric workflows and validate further investment downstream.

We offer a simple path for validation

We believe the most effective approach is minimum viable validation—targeted technical pilots that align the full potential of agentic technology with a unique, context-specific use case. These pilots are designed for scalability and value capture, ensuring real, differentiating impact. Delivered in three distinct phases, our approach focuses on refining the technology, validating the use case, and framing the business case for sustained success.

Blending tech and commercial insight

Our approach combines the best agentic insights with the most value-driven commercial use cases, helping to outline the path forward not only from a technical perspective but also commercially, strategically, and behaviorally. Ensuring we solve both inside out and outside in.

To validate B2B and B2B2C AI ambitions

Whether it be mid to large cap organisations looking for differentiation and defensibility in their existing marketplaces, or professional service firms and consulting firms looking to augment their core offerings to drive more dynamic and scalable solutions, we focus on unlocking trapped potential wherever agentic AI might enable it.

LEADERSHIP

Dr. Michael Kai Peterson

Michael Kai Petersen has 30+ years of experience in engineering, focusing on cognitive AI and human-computer interaction. He co-founded augmentedhearing.io to enhance speech in noise through AI-enabled earbuds. As an Industry Fellow with DTU, he helps transform generative AI concepts into startups within the DTU X-Tech incubator and advises widely on agentic AI. He holds a PhD in Cognitive Media Modeling and a Master’s in Mobile Internet Communication.
